Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin

The launch of AirBorneo’s official website is a major milestone in the airline’s journey towards operational readiness, according to Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.

In a warm welcome to the announcement that the website would become active today, Lee expressed his optimism about the airline entering a full dry-run and system testing phase. This is crucial to ensure that all digital functionalities operate seamlessly before the public can access the site.

Commitment to Quality

“The ongoing system testing is vital for creating a reliable, user-friendly platform for future passengers,” he noted in a statement on Tuesday.

“This achievement reflects the dedication and effort that the team has invested over the last few months.”

Lee emphasized that the Sarawak government is closely monitoring the airline’s progress and continues to provide unwavering support as AirBorneo prepares for its full operations.

Looking Ahead

He praised the commitment of AirBorneo staff, highlighting that many have been tirelessly working to meet project deadlines.

“The launch of the website will be the public’s first interaction with Sarawak’s own airline, and I am confident that the team will deliver a platform that exemplifies professionalism and a service-oriented spirit,” he added.

AirBorneo, which transitioned from MASwings and is now under Sarawak ownership, is nearing the completion of preparations for its inaugural operations. The airline aims to enhance air services in rural areas and strengthen connectivity throughout Sarawak, Sabah, and Labuan.

Ticketing Information

Further updates are anticipated as the airline approaches its official launch.

According to a statement from AirBorneo, all current MASWings tickets and bookings will remain valid, without any changes to flight times and dates.

However, passengers holding MASWings tickets for travel on or after January 14 next year will receive individual notifications regarding the re-issuance of their tickets under AirBorneo.

“Effective immediately, for purchasing new tickets for travel on or before January 13, travelers should continue to buy MASWings tickets through the current MASWings website, www.maswings.com.my; for new ticket purchases for travel on or after January 14, tickets should be bought from AirBorneo’s website, www.airborneo.com.

“Customers can also purchase tickets via AirBorneo’s call center.

“The hotlines for ticket purchases and inquiries include the toll-free number 1-300-22-1388 for local callers, or (+06)82-537 555 for international callers,” stated AirBorneo in their announcement.
