Four Chinese-aided primary schools in Sibu, namely SJK(C) Kiew Nang, SJK(C) Dung Sang, SJK(C) Su Lai, and SJK(C) Kiang Hin, have recently been equipped with smart classroom facilities aimed at enhancing teaching and learning experiences.

Datuk Michael Tiang, the Deputy Minister, announced that the state government has allocated RM5 million through the Sarawak Chinese Schools Consultative to upgrade selected schools across the state with cutting-edge educational technology.

Enhancing Educational Opportunities

During the handover ceremony, Tiang highlighted that the initiative includes electronic versions of reference materials specifically designed for Mathematics and Science subjects.

The Pelawan assemblyman stressed that this move reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring equality for all students.

“Regardless of whether they attend national primary schools or Chinese-aided primary schools, every student in Sarawak deserves equal treatment,” he affirmed.

Fostering Interest in STEM

He further elaborated that the introduction of smart classroom facilities is intended to cultivate a deeper interest in Science and technology among students.

“With interactive and internet-connected classrooms, learners will be able to engage more actively with their lessons and access the most current electronic learning materials,” he noted.

“I am confident this initiative will significantly improve the global competitiveness of our future generations,” he added, indicating that this approach signifies a new era in modern teaching methodologies.
