PKR’s central leadership has directed all Sarawak divisions to immediately step up preparations for a potential early state election. Speaking today, the party’s election director urged branch leaders across Sarawak to begin mobilising their members, updating electoral records and training volunteers for campaign work.

He noted that, although no formal dissolution date has been set, recent movements in the state assembly increase the chances of a snap state poll. “We must treat each branch as a campaign hub,” he said, “so when the election is announced, our teams will already be engaging voters and handling logistics.”

To support this, PKR divisions have been instructed to:
• Launch new membership drives with current contact information
• Assess constituencies for local issues to feature in campaign materials
• Work with Pakatan Harapan allies on joint “war room” setups and voter outreach programmes
• Select and train polling agents, counting agents and other campaign volunteers

The party aims to contest all 82 state seats, believing its grassroots network is its greatest strength. Branches have two weeks to submit progress updates on membership goals, data-cleaning initiatives and volunteer training plans.

“Our goal is clear: regardless of when the state assembly is dissolved, PKR will be fully prepared,” the election director said. “We want to present Sarawakians with a credible alternative that addresses their concerns on infrastructure, education and livelihoods.”
