Petronas has generously donated essential household food assistance to 70 selected recipients from the Baram Hilir area through its Uplifting Lives Programme.
This initiative aims to support affected families in their preparations for the upcoming Christmas celebration, while also alleviating their daily cost-of-living burdens.
Community Support and Celebration
The programme, officiated by political secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Dominic Ajang, representing Baram MP Dato Anyi Ngau, also included a pre-Christmas celebration for the local community.
At the event, Dominic remarked that this initiative transcends mere material assistance, embodying profound humanitarian values and emphasizing that no one should be overlooked, especially the underprivileged and those in need.
“This is the true spirit of Christmas — a time that reminds us of love, sacrifice, and giving without expecting anything in return,” he stated, expressing appreciation to Petronas for its unwavering support to rural communities.

Also in attendance were Senior Manager of SSGP Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd Hazli Kipli; Temenggong Elizabeth Deng; Penghulu Anthony Ngau; Sarawak Administrative Officer (SAO) Mike Arthur; Marudi District Police Chief DSP Nor Aizan; Chief of the Marudi Fire and Rescue Department Jesbent Jenus; Pemanca Nawan Luhat; KK Johannes Nyipa; along with other village heads and residents from Kampung Uma Akeh.
