Datuk Jafry Ariffin

Datuk Jafry Ariffin has been appointed as the new chairman of the Sabah Umno Liaison Committee. This decision was announced today in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the selection of Jafry, who also serves as Sabah’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, received approval from Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, following Clause 12.5 of the Umno Constitution.

New Leadership Announcements

In addition to Jafry’s appointment, Asyraf revealed that Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub will take on the role of deputy chairman, while Kalabakan Umno division chief Samasuddin Yusop has been appointed as the party secretary for Sabah.

Asyraf emphasized that these appointments aim to ensure a seamless administration, enhance party coordination, and organize Umno’s efforts in Sabah in a more effective and structured way.

A Call for Support

“Umno urges all party leaders and members to fully support this new leadership to continue serving the people and backing the Sabah government,” he stated.

The previous chairman of the Sabah Umno Liaison Committee, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, sadly passed away last Friday in a private hospital located in Kota Kinabalu.
