Harakah Islamiah Kindergarten (Hikmah) Bintulu has implemented a Special Strategic Plan Workshop utilizing a Performance Management System (PMS) approach to strengthen its framework for early childhood education.
According to Yusuff Ali, chairman of the Hikmah Bintulu Kindergarten Management Board, this system emphasizes target-based planning, key performance indicators (KPIs), ongoing monitoring, and stepwise improvements.
Vision and Mission
“This system facilitates the alignment of the kindergarten’s vision, mission, and direction among management, teachers, and committee members, ensuring that every initiative maximizes benefits for the holistic development of our pupils,” he explained.
During the Hikmah Bintulu Kindergarten Appreciation and Excellence Ceremony 2025, which was officiated by Johnny Pang, the assemblyman for Tanjong Batu, at Dewan Ibnu Sina, SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak (Mis) Bintulu, Yusuff emphasized the kindergarten’s dual education streams.
Educational Streams
The academic stream focuses on cognitive skills, literacy, numeracy, creativity, and moral values, while the Tahfiz stream is dedicated to Quranic memorization and character development.
“This integrated approach fosters balanced individuals with strong moral values, preparing them to face future challenges,” he added, noting that early exposure to religious education is crucial in shaping positive character traits in preschoolers.
Yusuff also expressed his appreciation to Pang for his ongoing support, particularly in enhancing facilities like the hall to create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.
Future Developments
He extended his gratitude to the management board members, headmaster, teachers, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) committee for their commitment to ensuring effective program implementation.
Looking to the future, he stated that Hikmah Bintulu will continue to evolve through curriculum development, teacher training, and improved learning facilities.
Also present at the ceremony were Samri Suhaili, Bintulu District Education Officer, and headmaster Zemrud Zainuddin.
