Officers from Huang’s parliamentary service centre and the implementing agencies inspect one of the rural bridge sites.
Three rural bridges in the Sarikei parliamentary constituency are set to undergo reconstruction with federal funding amounting to RM663,350, as stated by Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
The MP for Sarikei noted that the reconstruction works, managed by the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda), have successfully completed the tendering process and the projects have been officially handed over to the contractors.
Project Details
“All three projects are anticipated to be completed within three months,” he mentioned.
The approved projects include: Jalan Mee Ming, Minah at a cost of RM229,800; Sungai Kar, Jalan Kesa for RM231,650; and Kesa, Baron at RM201,900, according to the federal Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability.
Commitment to Safety
He further emphasized that this initiative is part of Putrajaya’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure and ensuring public safety, especially since the existing wooden bridges have become unsafe for users.
“We will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of the people. These upgrades reflect the federal government’s dedication to enhancing rural connectivity,” he added.
Earlier, Huang’s representative Kapitan Ling Dien Yong visited the project sites with officials from relevant agencies to assess conditions on the ground and obtain updates on progress.
