LAHAD DATU (Sept 23): An undocumented man in his 30s was found dead at a village here today due to suspected electrocution.
Lahad Datu fire station chief Sumsoa Rashid said acting on a distress call at 12.47pm, a 12-member rescue team was dispatched to Kampung Puyut and arrived eight minutes later.
“The victim, believed to be without any identification documents, was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
“Local residents also reportedly did not recognise the victim,” said Sumsoa in a statement.
He said after Sabah Electricity personnel cut off power to the area, firefighters removed the victim’s body and handed it over to police for further action.
The operation ended at 1.36pm after the area was declared safe, he added.
