Water supply disruptions have been plaguing Kampung Pasir villagers over the past year.

MIRI (Aug 29): Residents of Kampung Pasir in Marudi near here are calling upon the relevant authorities to resolve persistent water supply disruptions that they say have plagued the area over the past year.

A resident, who wished to be known only as Voon, 58, said her household had been without water for two weeks before the supply resumed on Aug 28.

“We had been living without water supply for the past two weeks. Only yesterday did water start flowing from the taps again.

“But this will not last long,” she told The Borneo Post here.

Voon, who has lived in the area for nine years, said water disruptions had occurred previously, but had become more frequent over the past year.

She said the supply could be disrupted for days or even up to two weeks at a time.

“There were days when we had water in the morning, but none in the afternoon. It is so stressful having to live without water.”

Voon said she had also raised the matter with local community leaders, urging them to bring the issue to the attention of the relevant authorities.

“We want this issue to be resolved as soon as possible,” she said.
