TAMBUNAN (March 17): The Sabah government, through the Internal Affairs and Research Office (PHEDNP) of the Chief Minister’s Department, has distributed special assistance totaling RM57,250 to help teachers affected by the fire at the Pekan Tambunan State Religious School (SAN).

PHEDNP Deputy Secretary Mohd Rizan Abran handed over the cash assistance at a ceremony held at the Tambunan District Office here today.

Mohd Rizan said the aid was intended to help ease the burden of teachers who lost various teaching equipment and personal belongings in the October 12, 2025 fire.

“The state government is concerned about the difficulties faced by the victims and hopes this special assistance can help them replace basic necessities and teaching equipment,” he said.

Among the recipients was the school’s headmaster, Ahmad Subri Janing, who lost a laptop and teaching materials.

Also receiving aid were several other teachers who lost teaching and learning materials, files, reference books, audio equipment such as speakers, and personal items including household appliances and vehicles.
