Garrido describes Negeri Sembilan as a solid side combining experienced local and import players.

KOTA KINABALU (Feb 27): Sabah FC’s new head coach Juan Torres Garrido is looking forward to beginning his first campaign with the Rhinos when they host Negeri Sembilan FC this Saturday.

Despite having only a short period to prepare, the Spanish-born coach remains optimistic about shaping the team’s playing identity.

“My focus now is to get to know the players better and ensure they understand the ideas and philosophy that we want to implement.

“It is important for everyone to move in the same direction,” he said in a statement.

However, Garrido chose not to reveal the tactical plans he intends to implement, preferring to let the team’s performance on the pitch reflect his approach.

Commenting on the match against Negeri Sembilan FC, Garrido described the visitors as a solid side combining experienced local and import players.

“They have a good structure and are in positive momentum. I expect a tough match,” he said.

Garrido also called on supporters to stand behind the team.

“The presence of supporters is very important to boost the morale of the players. We want to start this phase on the right foot,” he said.

Sabah FC will take on Negeri Sembilan FC at Likas Stadium this Saturday at 9.15pm.
