The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) recently hosted an exchange session that brought together a delegation of entrepreneurs from Fujian Province. This event highlighted the strong interest of the Fujian business community in the development opportunities present in Sabah.
SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew emphasized that this visit has injected new momentum into the deepening of economic and trade cooperation between Sabah and Fujian. It has also laid a solid foundation for enhanced communication, expanded collaboration, and mutually beneficial outcomes.
Business Exchange Highlights
The Fujian delegation participated in a courtesy call and a business-matching exchange at the SCCC headquarters in Kolombong. The group included representatives from various enterprises, such as Luo Jinfa, Chairman of Fujian Quanzhou Building Materials City, and Jiang Zhenguo, General Manager of Fujian Haohui Landscape Construction Engineering Co Ltd, along with other key personnel.
These visiting entrepreneurs are engaged in sectors including building materials, landscape engineering, trade, the digital economy, and information technology, contributing fresh impetus to Sabah–Fujian economic cooperation.
Future Prospects
Liew welcomed the delegation and introduced local companies and SCCC committee members participating in the exchange. This included Vice President Datuk Simon Teoh and representatives from various sectors.
He pointed out that Sabah is rich in natural resources, strategically located, and has an improving investment environment. Recent years have seen a significant increase in economic and trade exchanges between Sabah and China, especially with Fujian Province, showcasing great potential for collaboration in infrastructure, the digital economy, and environmental projects.
Liew also stated that SCCC will continue to serve as a bridge and platform to assist Fujian entrepreneurs in connecting with local Sabah resources, promoting the implementation of concrete projects, and fostering complementary strengths for win-win cooperation.
Both sides expressed optimism that this exchange would further deepen practical cooperation between enterprises in Sabah and Fujian and open a new chapter in regional economic and trade development.
