BANGKOK: The Malaysian contingent continues its remarkable performance in wushu, successfully clinching two gold medals, one silver, and two bronze medals on the final day of the SEA Games 33rd Thailand 2025.
Out of six final events held yesterday, the national team brought home five medals, thereby concluding the competition at the Ratthaprasasanaphakdi Building with an overall achievement of three gold medals, one silver, and three bronze medals.
Outstanding Performances
The first gold medal on the final day was secured in the women’s Nandao event, where Tan Cheong Min delivered a stunning performance to win the title.
This athlete accumulated a total of 29.263 points through a combination of Nanquan, Nandao, and Nangun disciplines, surpassing the challenge posed by Vietnam’s Dang Trang Phuong, who scored 29.112 points. Singapore’s Ong Xue Ling Kasandra settled for bronze with a score of 28.579 points.
Continued Success for Malaysia
The success was furthered by Pang Pui Yee, who showcased consistent action to take home the silver medal in the women’s Jianshu category.
She garnered 29.139 points to finish second behind Indonesia’s Geraldine Patricia, who scored 29.266 points, while Singapore’s Lee Yin Shuen claimed bronze with 29.055 points.
Malaysia’s dominance continued as the trio of Pang Pui Yee, Tan Cheong Min, and Loh Yin Ting demonstrated excellent teamwork to secure a gold medal in the women’s Duilian event.
The Malaysian women emerged champions with a score of 9.730 points, defeating Thailand (9.646) and Myanmar (9.606) in a final involving six nations.
Additional Medals
Meanwhile, Malaysia also added to its medal tally through Bryan Ti Kai Jie, who won bronze in the men’s Nangun event.
Bryan scored 29.225 points to finish third, trailing behind Brunei’s Roslan Adi Salih, who won gold with 29.329 points, and Singapore’s Lim Yi Jie Randall, who took silver with 29.242 points.
Another bronze medal was achieved in the men’s Duilian without weapons, where the trio of Si Shin Peng, Muhammad Danish Aizad, and Wong Zhi Hong delivered a solid performance in today’s final.
The Malaysian trio collected 9.626 points to finish third, behind Indonesia, which won gold with 9.746 points, while Myanmar secured silver with a score of 9.706 points.
