Yayasan Petronas in collaboration with the Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) have made a significant contribution by providing new medical equipment to the Balai Ringin Health Clinic. In addition, they have distributed Christmas food baskets to eligible households.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who also serves as the assemblyman for Balai Ringin, emphasized the positive impact of this initiative on the community. He noted that it plays a crucial role in enhancing healthcare services and alleviating the financial pressure on families during the festive season.
Enhancing Healthcare Services
“On behalf of the people of Balai Ringin, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude as the Balai Ringin Health Clinic has received essential medical equipment,” he stated in a press release. The equipment includes items such as waiting chairs, hospital beds, wheelchairs, an infusion pump, a heavy-duty nebuliser, among others.
This new equipment is vital for replacing outdated items, thereby enabling the clinic to offer improved and more efficient healthcare services to the local community.
Support for Households in Need
Furthermore, a total of 204 households benefited from the distribution of Christmas food baskets, generously contributed by Yayasan Petronas. Snowdan highlighted that this assistance is designed to help ease the financial burden for recipients, who were selected based on the e-Kasih registration data.
He mentioned that the partnership between Petronas and Sabati aligns with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030, which aims for comprehensive and inclusive enhancements to the quality of life for the people.
During the event, he also presented certificates of appointment to 11 headmen in the Balai Ringin sub-district, urging them to collaborate closely with government agencies on new and ongoing development projects in their villages.
Meanwhile, five churches within the Balai Ringin constituency received a total of RM1.005 million in assistance from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor), provided by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government. These funds are intended for the upgrading of places of worship and to support a mission school.
