Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is embracing technology to enhance the experience of its residents. The council has introduced a QR code-based feedback survey designed to collect insights on municipal services, facilities, and the overall living environment in the city.

This initiative was officially launched during the MBKS Annual Dinner 2025 at the Imperial Hotel, where Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian scanned the QR code, symbolically unveiling the MBKS Municipal Services Feedback Survey.

Enhancing Community Engagement

The survey, hosted on Google Forms, aims to facilitate residents in sharing their opinions, thereby assisting the council in improving cleanliness, public parks, and various city operations.

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader commitment to elevate the council’s standards, focusing on enhancing municipal services.

Commitment to Improvement

He stated, “Our response time, cleanliness operations, park maintenance, and enforcement must continue improving.”

“We will expand smart city initiatives and digital services to ensure convenience, security, and accessibility for all,” he added.

Furthermore, Dato Wee mentioned that MBKS is dedicated to promoting inclusivity through projects such as AUSOME PARK, Bank Sampah, Child Friendly Cities, and Age Friendly Cities.

“Additionally, we will support economic growth by ensuring Kuching South remains clean, stable, and business-friendly,” he remarked.

Looking Ahead

“We will also strengthen our internal talent through training, leadership development, and teamwork. To achieve greater success, we must grow together,” he concluded.

Other attendees included MBKS Deputy Mayor Dato Zaiedi Suhaili and former mayors Datuk Song Swee Guan and Dato James Chan Khay Syn.
