A finalist showcases hands-on expertise during the intense competition at WSM-Sarawak 2025 finals.
A total of 89 top performers from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Sarawak have advanced to the finals of WorldSkills Malaysia Sarawak (WSM-Sarawak) 2025.
Selected from 274 pre-qualified participants, these finalists competed across 15 skill categories, undergoing rigorous technical assessments to claim the state’s top honours.
Recognition and Future Prospects
The winners will be recognised at the Sarawak Premier Golden Hand Awards Ceremony 2025, to be held on Monday, Dec 15 at the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Convention Centre.
This biennial competition event is jointly organised by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) and the Sarawak Regional Skills Development Department (JPK), aiming to drive progress in the state’s TVET sector.
Event Highlights
Running from Dec 4 to 14, the event is hosted across 10 venues, including the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (Centexs); Sarawak Skills, Automotive and Welding Institute of Sarawak (Awisar); Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus; Universiti Malaysia Sarawak; UCSI University; Advanced Technology Training Centre Miri; Institut Kemahiran MARA Kuching; Akademi Binaan Malaysia Wilayah Sarawak; and Giatmara Petra Jaya.
The competition has been intense, with participants demonstrating precision, creativity, and professional expertise – highlighting Sarawak’s commitment to cultivating high-quality skilled talent for future industrial needs.
