A total of 2,900 participants took part in the MyLesen B2 Driving Licence Assistance Programme for the Bukit Assek constituency at SMK Sacred Heart.

Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng, who officiated the event, mentioned that the programme aimed to ease the burden of the B40 group in obtaining a motorcycle licence.

Affordable Licensing

“Through MyLesen, the cost of a B2 motorcycle licence is only RM250, compared to the market price which usually reaches RM800 to RM900,” Chieng stated.

He highlighted that the difference—almost three times cheaper—provides many individuals, particularly youths and workers, the opportunity to obtain a driving licence legally without significant financial strain.

Chieng emphasized that the programme also fosters courteous, disciplined, and responsible driving attitudes, encouraging compliance with road traffic laws to ensure safety for all road users.

Commitment to Safe Driving

“I believe that through programmes like this, we can produce more ethical drivers and subsequently reduce the rates of accidents, injuries, fatalities, and property damage on the roads,” he added.

He urged all participants to fully utilize this opportunity and engage in the training with commitment to become exemplary drivers.

The programme was organized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu branch in collaboration with Akademi Memandu Suria Sibu, conducted in two sessions.

The first session accommodated 1,800 participants, while the second session engaged 1,100 participants.
